Coffee Mornings at St Michael’s Care
At St Michael’s Care, we believe that our community extends beyond just our residents – it includes their families, friends, and loved ones. As a home that prioritises warmth, compassion, and connection, we understand how difficult it can be when a resident sadly passes away. Families who have spent time with us often form strong bonds with our staff and fellow residents, and we want to ensure that they continue to feel a part of the St Michael’s family. That’s why we are delighted to introduce our monthly Coffee Mornings at St Michael’s Care, held on the last Friday of every month from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. This is a special opportunity for families of previous residents to return, reminisce, and reconnect with our staff over a warm cup of coffee – and of course, some delicious cake!
A Welcoming Space for Remembrance and Connection
Losing a loved one is never easy, and it often leaves a void in the lives of family members who were part of their care journey. Many of our residents’ families have shared how much they miss the friendly faces of our carers and the comforting environment of St Michael’s. Our coffee mornings offer a relaxed and welcoming space for families to come together, share cherished memories, and catch up with our team.
We know that maintaining connections is an important part of the healing process, and our goal is to provide a supportive environment where families can feel valued and heard. Whether it’s reminiscing about fond moments or simply enjoying a friendly chat, these gatherings are a chance to honour the memories of loved ones while staying in touch with the people who cared for them.
The Importance of Community in Care
At St Michael’s Care, we strive to create a true sense of belonging for both residents and their loved ones. Our approach to care goes beyond meeting physical needs – it’s about emotional support, companionship, and making everyone feel at home.
Our compassionate team understands the impact of bereavement and how important it is to have a space to talk, reflect, and stay connected. These coffee mornings serve as a continuation of the support we provide, ensuring that families know they will always have a place with us, even after their loved one has passed.
What to Expect at Our Coffee Mornings
Our monthly coffee mornings are casual, friendly, and filled with warmth. Here’s what you can look forward to:
- A warm welcome from our staff, who are always delighted to see familiar faces.
- Freshly brewed coffee and tea, along with a selection of homemade cakes and treats.
- Time to share stories and memories, reconnecting with staff and other families who have been part of the St Michael’s journey.
- A relaxed and comfortable setting, where everyone is encouraged to chat, laugh, and reflect.
Whether you have a story to share, want to hear how our home is doing, or simply enjoy a nice cuppa in good company, we would love to see you there.
