Country Fancy Dress at St. Michael’s Care!
At St. Michael’s Care, we love any excuse to celebrate, and our Country Fancy Dress event in February was no exception! As part of our Valentine’s Day Country Love Family Party, we brought the spirit of the Wild West right into our care home, filling the day with music, fun, and, of course, fantastic fancy dress.
A Rootin’ Tootin’ Good Time
Our Country Fancy Dress event was a huge success, bringing together residents, staff, and families for an afternoon of laughter, great food, and live music. The atmosphere was set with rustic decorations and plenty of cowboy hats, transporting everyone straight to the heart of the American South.
The highlight of the afternoon was the incredible live performance by Ashley from the country band Smokin’ Mavericks. His authentic country music had everyone clapping along, singing, and even getting up for a little dance! There’s nothing quite like live music to bring people together and create special memories.
Dressing the Part – Country Fancy Dress Fun!
No Country Fancy Dress event would be complete without some fabulous outfits! Our staff went all out, donning cowboy boots, plaid shirts, and cowboy hats. Our residents got into the spirit, too, with bandanas, denim, and wearing cowboy hats along with their family members.
A Taste of the Wild West
Of course, no celebration at St. Michael’s would be complete without delicious food. We served up a campfire feast featuring classic cowboy cuisine, including:
- Hearty chilli con carne
- Crispy southern fried chicken
- Juicy sausages & baked beans
- Golden fries
The food was a real talking point, sparking memories and conversations among residents about their favourite meals and past experiences.
Bringing Joy and Connection
Events like our Country Fancy Dress party aren’t just about dressing up and having fun – they’re about creating meaningful experiences for our residents and their families. At St. Michael’s, we believe in the power of social connection, and themed events like this help foster joy, engagement, and a sense of community.
We also love that our celebrations bring together families and friends, allowing them to share special moments with their loved ones in a warm and welcoming environment.
