Rema has been a part of the team here at St Michaels for 18 years. She started her career as a nurse in the acute sector working in both India and the Middle East, before joining us here at St Michaels.

With Rema`s existing knowledge of our residents, staff, families and the home itself, it was the obvious choice for Rema to become the Home Manager when our previous manager decided it was time to enjoy her retirement.

The person-centred, high-quality care delivered to our residents and the happiness and support given to our staff is her main priority. Rema is committed to ensuring that every member of staff feels like they belong, they are a member of the team and that their dedication and hard work are always appreciated.

There is a positive culture here at St Michaels that is person-centred, open, inclusive and empowering which achieves good outcomes. Rema holds regular staff meetings and resident/family meetings that include lead staff members attendance to offer everyone a chance to give their feedback about our services and provides the residents and their families a chance to engage with our staff.

We are very proud (but not surprised) that because of these things, Rema was a Finalist for the Home Manager Award at the Great British Care Awards, which is a huge achievement and recognition of the incredible work she does with us here. Unfortunately, on this occasion, she missed out on the award, but she remains a winner to the staff and residents alike at St Michael’s. Well done Rema!
