New Entertainer – Lynn
On Thursday we welcomed a new entertainer to St Michael’s, Lynn was absolutely fantastic and had residents dancing and singing along!

Armchair Travel
Last week we took a virtual trip to Romania
We enjoyed Romanian dancing, snacks and drinks. A virtual tour of Romania and a quiz.
We were then delighted to welcome ‘Sunny’ Vanessa’s Romanian rescue dog. Vanessa explained Sunnys story and showed us her passport, then Sunny had lots of cuddles and kisses from everyone!
Cookery Club
Another successful cookery club afternoon last week; this time cooking Bubble and Squeak.
This was resident John’s idea as he said it was a traditional dish to make after Christmas with all the leftovers.
Exercise to music
Afternoon exercise to music was a great success on Saturday, residents chose to exercise to music from the band Black Lace; here they are doing the movements to Superman…can you tell?
Acoustic Session
Yesterday afternoon David Shepherd gave us a wonderful varied acoustic session with songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s
Resident Janet was so impressed she asked for David’s autograph!
Ursuline College Youth SVP Group
On Friday it was John`s birthday so we enjoyed a `Cockney Knees Up Quiz` and birthday cake along with a visit from the Ursuline College Youth SVP Group.
Our residents very much enjoyed just simply chatting with the students, this was a lovely intergenerational afternoon!
The are around 40 students in the Youth SVP Group and we look forward to meeting another 10 students this Friday
Karaoke
Yesterday we enjoyed an afternoon of Karaoke.. Thank you Laura!
Crafts Afternoon
Yesterday was a crafts afternoon, preparing for our Chinese New Year celebration

Afternoon tea, winter quiz & School visit
On Friday we had another visit from The Ursuline College SVP Group where they enjoyed afternoon tea and a winter quiz, alongside making some Chinese New Year decorations.
Our residents really appreciate the students visiting them here and taking the time to talk to them and we look forward to seeing them again this Friday .. Keep an eye on our Facebook to see what they get up to this week!
Last week
Last week our residents made paper dragons, celebrated Chinese New Year with a food tasting afternoon, enjoyed a visit from Widdle the dog and celebrated Iris`s birthday!
Farewell Sue 🥹
Today there were some tears as we said a sad farewell to Sue who is leaving St Michaels to enjoy her retirement after being a member of the team for over 14 years!
Thank you Sue for all your hard work and dedication to our home, you will be missed by all the staff and residents here and we wish you all the best

GFitness
Last week we were joined by Mary from ‘Gfitness’.
