Congratulations Hilda!

 

Hilda one of our Kitchen Assistant`s was the lucky winner for April`s Golden Moments. She had several Golden Ticket nominations this month from staff including one from Gail that says: Hilda is great, always helpful, always goes above and beyond in the kitchen and helps the staff by preparing the trollies. She is just genuine, lovely and helpful.

 

Kings Coronation

 

We hope you have all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend celebrating the Kings Coronation. St Michaels celebrated yesterday with a packed garden room full with our residents and their families, enjoying a quiz with scones, jam & clotted cream along with cakes & treats and lots of prosecco and dancing!

Congratulations to the team `The Royal Flush` for coming 1st place in the Quiz. There have been lots of celebrations over the last few weeks including birthday celebrations for John, Gillian, Barbara, John & Sr Anne, as well as our residents Eileen & Peter`s wedding anniversary – Congratulations to you both.

We hope you all had a lovely day celebrating with friends and family, love from all the residents and staff here at St Michaels

 

Ursuline SVP Group

 

Last week our regular visitors – the students form the Ursuline SVP group came to join us for a game of BINGO! We look forward to seeing them again this Friday as they join us to celebrate Sr Alma being a member of the religious order for 70 years! I believe there are a few singers in the group who are going to do a small performance for us.. in exchange for some cake, we cant wait.

 

Golden Moments

 

As you will have seen, we hold a Golden Moments initiative here at St Michaels. These are golden tickets to showcase and share special moments that are seen between the staff here at St Michaels and our residents, which may not be otherwise truly celebrated or recorded. Nominations can be made by staff, residents, friends and family.All you have to do is, make a note of a golden moment where you have seen a member of staff with either your loved one or another resident. Pop it on a golden ticket and place it in the box which is now placed on our Reception desk. All golden moments will be placed into a draw and a winner will be picked at the end of each month by our Home Manager Rema

Hilda was the nominated winner for April, we look forward to seeing who it will be for May

International Nurses Day

 

To show their appreciation of our 12 Nurses and Nurse Assistants our residents made special thank you cards yesterday for each of them

 

Sister Alma`s 70th Jubilee

 

In the tradition of the Catholic Church, the word “Jubilee” is used to designate an anniversary year. Each year the Catholic Church honour our Jubilarians and this year Sr Alma celebrates her 70th Jubilee with us here at St Michaels

Jubilee years are counted from the date of one’s first profession. What a wonderful gift to celebrate the anniversaries of our Sisters who profess vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. It truly is a public proclamation that Religious Consecration is Baptismal Consecration lived deeply. Congratulations Sr Alma

To celebrate we had a visit from the Ursuline SVP group where a few of the students showed us their talents -Including singing, guitar playing and the clarinet. We enjoyed lots of cake, a game of pass the parcel and to end the afternoon, everyone joined in singing along to some of Sr Alma`s favourite songs. It really was a special day
